A "Missing of the Minds"

For the record, Bob Parsons is my kinda guy! That's why I put together one of the timeliest, most impressive, mutually beneficial, marketing magical, cyber presentations, specifically for him that he's ever seen. The only problem is...he's never seen it. Remember the "buffers" Willie Chichi spoke about between him and Michael Corleone in Godfather II? Well, like the Don, the president of GoDaddy.com has a lot of buffers. And I'm Commando Dave, Point Man of the FANS REVOLUTION @ http://WeTheFans.com the Official Sports Fan Union and driver of the BLACK CRUSH BUS looking for a "meeting of the minds."

Jason:
I appreciate your fast replies, but they are precisely
the reason I'd prefer to hear from Bob Parsons
himself. You seem to be giving me the runaround (as
the others have) by not answering a direct question
directly.

Additionally, I'm still not convinced that Bob Parsons
has read and listened to the presentation/promotion I
devised specifically for his eyes and ears.
After reading his bio and seeing him on TV, it's
disappointing that it's taken me four months and as
many "staff guys" that neither understand the concept
we're proposing, nor the unique marketing opportunity,
and never get the chance to talk President to
President.

Dear Dave,

Thank you for your response. GoDaddy.com reached a settlement with Fox and the NFL regarding the unaired second commercial. The details of that settlement are not public information, but Mr. Parsons was satisfied with the conclusion of the entire episode. Since the issue was settled, we are no longer at issue with either Fox or the NFL.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Throwing in the towel?

Jason:

Thanks for the second fastest response in four months.

I got the parody of the commercial the moment I first
saw it. That's not what I was referring to. Of course
it wasn't an attempt to start a free speech campaign.

The free speech fight began when the NFL censored the
second commercial. Bob Parsons expounded on that on
"The O'Reilly Factor" and "The Howard Stern Show"
later that week. In fact, he sounded SERIOUS enough to
prompt me to join in
http://wethefans.com/commandcenter2.html to keep the
heat on the NFL.

So I'll ask you again, has GoDaddy.com just thrown in
the towel on the freedom of speech fight the NFL
started at the Super Bowl, which Bob Parsons himself,
publically stated he was ready to fight?
Please confirm receipt. Thank you.

Dear Dave,

Thank you for your response. We apologize for not responding to your other two questions. It was our assumption that those questions were in relation to receiving a response directly from Mr. Parsons.

Concerning the freedom of speech issue, GoDaddy's Super Bowl commercial was a parody of the censorship issues in media today. However, it was not an attempt to start a free speech campaign against the censors. Rather, it was an attempt to poke fun at the current state of things, get viewers to laugh, and then have them think to themselves "What is this GoDaddy.com?", thereby increasing traffic to our site.

Of course we would love to have you 'make a name' with GoDaddy.com. We are committed to providing the best pricing for our services in the industry, and the best customer support. We always welcome customers to purchase their services with us, but understand that GoDaddy's services are not right for every situation.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Dear Dave,

Thank you for your response. We would like to assure you that Mr. Parsons does receive and review every email that is sent to president@godaddy.com, and he also receives a copy of every response that is sent out from this address; so he has received each of the emails that you've sent us. However, he does not respond directly to those emails in most cases, which is why the staff in the Office of the President handles issues that come in. We cannot guarantee that Mr. Parsons will respond to your emails, but we can guarantee that he has received them directly, and that we are not keeping your correspondences from getting to him.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you.

Is there any chance that either of you can put me in
DIRECT touch with Bob Parsons?
It's been two months since going to your website,
getting Bob Parson's eMail address off of the page
with his profile on it and sending him an audio/visual
presentation.

That presentation and the follow-up "nuts and bolts"
has to be unparalleled to anything you've ever
received from a website like mine trying to
collaborate with on such a timely and sensitive
matter. I understand about being busy, but TWO
MONTHS? COME ON!

The NFL played you guys for PUNKS and you DON'T wanna
get the last laugh? Was Bob Parson just blowing smoke
when he "sounded the alarm" about this kind of
censorship on The O'Reilly Factor? Has Bob Parsons
even heard and read the Plan? Or is your strategy to
wait another two months and let the entire thing just
go cold?

So I'll ask you again, is there any chance that either
of you can put me in DIRECT touch with Bob Parsons?
Please advise and confirm receipt. Thank you.

I appreciate the prompt reply. I gather from your
response, although the eMail address is
"president@godaddy.com," it doesn't REALLY go to the
president of GoDaddy.com. And seeing how you wrote,
"...we do forward all communication to the executive
staff," you're no where near the Office of the
President. And despite the fact that you and Jim
Thornburn replied to my eMails, neither of you can
actually put me in DIRECT touch with Bob Parsons,
right?

Who is Mr. Thornburn?

Date: Mon, 21 Mar 2005 14:12:52 -0800 (PST)
From: "Official Sports Fan Union"
Subject: RE: CLASSIFIED BRIEFING FOR BOB PARSONS III
To: "Office of the President-Go Daddy Software Inc."

Mr. Thornburn:
Thank you for your response. I trust you’ve reviewed
our qualifications and listened to the Real Media clip
@ http://wethefans.com/commandcenter2.html

The “blackout” of GoDaddy.com’s Super Bowl commercial
gave our websites an undeniable common interest
http://www.thesportscritics.com/listingsEntry.asp?ID=301338&PT=Other+Critics&fc=&ic=06
On the O’Reilly Factor, Bob Parsons talked about
battling censorship. And for over four years,
WeTheFans.com has been the online leader in fighting
the NFL blackout policy; a form of censorship. By
joining forces, our websites can create an “Internet
Buzz” the likes of which has never been seen before.
And by so doing, make history bringing the NFL to its
knees by CRUSHING the blackout policy. The “perfect
pay back” for GoDaddy.com!

This can be achieved by GoDaddy.com sponsoring the
“BLACK CRUSH Bus.” It’s a “cyber bus,” but your
sponsorship will make it as “virtually real” as
possible. WeTheFans.com has made a name for itself in
the online sports world with just a part-time effort
over the past six years. The sponsorship would enable
the full-time push it’s always needed; creating even a
bigger name with GoDaddy.com and even bigger
opportunities for both sites.

The BLACK CRUSH Bus is designed to get NFL fans to
protest the blackout policy by “blacking out
commercials” of NFL games. That’s the only way the
“Berlin Wall of Sports” will be brought down. When
millions of NFL fans across the country constantly
turn the channel for two minutes during the
commercials, the advertisers will put immense pressure
on the NFL and the league will have no choice, but to
finally eliminate the outdated policy.

A GoDaddy.com sponsorship will enable WeTheFans.com to
get momentum started now with Phase One and be in
full-motion come football season. This will entail a
heavy push on sports radio in the 32 NFL markets.
Along with a relentless “air attack,” we will have
just as solid of a “ground attack” with BLACK CRUSH
Bus (driven by GoDaddy.com) banners on virtually every
sports website on the Internet and a “Power of 10
eMail Campaign,” starting with the members of our
M.A.H.F.I.A. (Mad As Hell Fans In America) and BLACK
CRUSH Squadron.

By calling the campaign, “XXXX: The Fans Strike Back!”
built around the “irony of a ‘parody on censorship’
being censored,” WeTheFans.com can help GoDaddy.com’s
fight on censorship like no other entity can. The
feedback from our four-year effort, proves NFL fans
already have many longstanding beefs with the league.
Most fans are just looking for a way to even the
score; just think about how many already side with
your stance on the Super Bowl situation.

If GoDaddy.com really wanted to “take it to the stage”
we could go to Phase Two. During the summer an actual
BLACK CRUSH Bus (driven by GoDaddy.com) could roll
from city to city. The Phase One cyber tour would
set-up an actual tour that would take on a life of
it’s own as a “Sports Reality Show on the Internet.”
The star could be Candace Michelle, reprising her role
as Ms. Nikki Cappelli and the sports radio stations
that we hit previously, would be followed-up in person
with her as the main draw. The Sports Critics (
http://thesportscritics.com/ ) could be the supporting
cast as the hard-hitting Sports Fanatics that they are
and a 32-city tour would yield enough DV footage to
produce XXXX: The Fans Strike Back!” as an online
show. The spin-off possibilities would be endless.

The momentum created with XXXX: The Fans Strike Back!
will be a “storm on the horizon” for the NFL, since
the Phase Three ultimate destination will be Super
Bowl XXXX, to black out commercials to protest yours
being blacked out the previous year. I trust you’re
beginning to see how a GoDaddy.com sponsorship of
WeTheFans.com will enable our organizations to join
forces in an unprecedented way. The resulting impact
will undoubtedly make a name for WeTheFans.com and
lionize the name of GoDaddy.com to sports fans
forever, as the site that brought the NFL blackout
policy to an end once and for all. Poetic justice if
you ask me.

I look forward to your thoughts and questions. Please
confirm receipt. Thank you.
